The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) places great emphasis on lighting education in fulfilling its mission to advance the art, science, and practice of illumination. Our goal is to provide agile and accessible educational opportunities through modern learning modalities as well as in-person seminars and courses and allowing the vast knowledge of our members to be shared with our membership at large.

IES Cleveland will be hosting the Fundamentals of Lighting Class in 2019 which is a ten-week introductory course in lighting starting in March. Each week a different module will be presented to provide the students with a foundation in the art, science, and practice of lighting. A final exam will be given at the completion of the course to allow attendees to receive IES Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or AIA Learning Units (LUs).
